Maintaining correct tyre pressure is important for safety, vehicle handling, optimal tyre life and fuel efficiency.
If you often have under-inflated tyres, it is time to see the team at your BP Workshop Wanaka for nitrogen tyre inflation.
Nitrogen leaks slower than standard compressed air and is a good way to maintain tyre pressure for longer, enjoying the benefits of:
- Better fuel economy

Run Flat Tyre Repair
Normally a puncture means having to stop and replace your tyre. Not with Bridgestone’s Run Flat Tyre. It’s specially designed to let you travel up to 80km (80km/h or less) even after a puncture.
- You can bring your car to a safe location even when the tyre is punctured.
- You don’t have to change the tyre yourself.
- You won’t need to carry a spare tyre, freeing up space and improving overall fuel efficiency.
Conditions of our Run Flat Tyre repair:
- Run Flat Tyres can only be fitted to vehicles with a TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System).
- We recommend Run Flat Tyres are only fitted to vehicles that have Run Flat Tyres fitted as Original Equipment.
Modern tyres seem to be stronger and harder to puncture, but sometimes getting a puncture is inevitable. That’s why at our Bridgestone Tyre Centre we offer a convenient puncture repair service.
If you do get a puncture bring it in and our team of technicians will evaluate if it can be fixed in a safe and professional manner in line with safety standards (NZ Standard 5423) and have you back on the road in no time.
Tips to avoid getting punctures:
- Check the treads on your tyres regularly for embedded glass, stones or sharp objects.
- Make sure your tyres are inflated correctly (including the spare).
Never drive on a flat or partially deflated tyre
Driving on a flat tyre doesn’t only compromise your safety, but increases the chance of having to fully replace the tyre.
So if you notice your tyre is looking a bit flat, pull over, replace it with your spare and bring it on in for us to check out.
If your car has a case of the shakes, it is highly likely that at least one of your wheels need balancing. It is not only difficult to drive with unbalanced wheels, but this condition can create bald spots in your tyres, permanent vibration and uneven tyre wear.
Your wheels might need to be balanced if any of the following conditions apply:
- At certain speeds your car shakes.
- You have recently had new tyres fitted.
- You have had a tyre removed from its rim.
- You have noticed even a small amount of irregular tyre wear.
- You have unusual vibrations in your steering wheel.
Getting your wheels balanced will increase the life of your steering and suspension systems and optimise your fuel efficiency. At Bridgestone Tyre Centre we use technologically advanced, market leading wheel balancing technology, to achieve perfect wheel balancing. No matter how bad of a case of the shakes your vehicle has, we are confident that we can smooth things out.
Give Lloyd and the team a call today to get a thorough wheel inspection and quick fix by our qualified technicians.

Often people ask “what is a service”, so we have broken down what we action to make things simpler:
“A motor vehicle service…” is a series of maintenance procedures carried out at a set time interval or after the vehicle has travelled a certain distance.
The service intervals are specified by the vehicle manufacturer in a service schedule and some moderns cars display the due date for the service electronically on the instruction panel.
Maintenance tasks commonly carried out (but not limited to) during a motor vehicle service include:
- Change the engine oil & replace the oil filter
- Check/Replace the air filter & check/Replace the fuel filter
- Check moisture content in brake fluid
- Check level and where required refill power steering fluid
- Check all drive line fluids, grease and lubricate components
- Check conditions of tyres, brake condition, suspension, battery
- Check operation of lights, horn, wipers washers
- Check front and rear wheel bearings
Warrant of Fitness Definition…

On 1st Jan 2014 – All light vehicles first registered between 2004 and 2008 will move to one inspection per year thereafter for the lifetime of the vehicle.
On 1st July 2014 – All light vehicles first registered after 1st Jan 2000, will move to one inspection per year thereafter for the lifetime of the vehicle.

Injector Cleaner (Diesel). In order for a vehicle to perform as it was intended, it is essential that the injectors remain clean and free of build-up. Deposits on the fuel injectors can accumulate rapidly due to poor diesel fuel quality. These deposits can adversely affect the ideal spray pattern from the injector nozzle, which is essential for optimum vehicle performance. These build-ups directly affect the engine power, fuel consumption, emissions (black smoke) and the general performance of the vehicle.
Injector Cleaner (Petrol). During every day driving deposits form on the tips of fuel injectors. These deposits can adversely affect the ideal spray pattern from the injector nozzle, which is essential for optimum vehicle performance. Deposits are particulary troublesome in today’s home to shop stop starting driving environments, with the result being dirty injectors, irregular idling, loss of power, difficult cold start. These deposits can start to occur after only 2,400 km’s of driving,
Radiator Flush. Cooling system failure and overheating of the engine is the leading cause of mechanical breakdowns. Rust, grease, sludge and scale build-up all contribute to the likelihood of cooling system failure. By not using a flush damaging debris remain in the cooling system, slowly deteriorating internal components and seriously impairing the proper function of the radiator and cooling system. Wynn’s Radiator Flush safely removes rust, grease and scale from the entire cooling system ensuring the new coolant works at its maximum potential, not having to work against a dirty system hat can shorten coolant life. Wynn’s Radiator Flush contains no harsh acid or alkali compounds and will not attack cooling system components.
Engine Flush. With time even the best engine oil deteriorates and contaminates the engine with gums and varnish deposits that a simple oil change just cannot remove. Any new oil may be compromised and be contaminated by deposits left behind. Extended service intervals are placing higher demands on today’s engine oils, making it now even more important to ensure that the new oil is give the optimum chance to protect the engine. Most engine flushes are solvent-type based products, they tend to reduce the lubrication of the oil. If this type of flush is left in the engine too long mechanical damage can occur and engine seals can be affected. Damage may bot be visible but is irreversible. Wynn’s Engine Flush has been formulated to gently dissolve and remove internal engine contaminants by suspending them in a high level of dispersants. The non-solvent formula assures maximum drainage of the contaminants with the used oil, thereby minimising new oil contamination.
Castrol Magnatec – Instant protection from the moment you turn the key.
Up to 75% of engine wear happens while your engine warms up. When the engine stops oils drain off critical engine parts, however, Castrol Magnatec has Intelligent Molecules that continue to cling to your engine like a magnet providing an extra layer of protection. They bond to metal surfaces in your engine, forming an extra layer of protection, dramatically reducing engine wear. Because they cling to critical engine parts, the protection is already there when you need it most – while the engine warms up. Out intelligent molecules are protecting your engine 24/7, 365 days a year. That’s their job and it’s what makes Castrol Magnatec, Castrol Magnatec.
